Spanish Peaks Arts Council has been selected for the Creative Capitol Exhibition. The exhibit will be active from March to June 2018.
This exhibition at the Colorado State Capitol is a collection of works by 25 members of the Spanish Peaks Arts Council, located in La Veta, Colorado. Many members travel at least an hour to participate in SPACe shows, choosing to live in rural areas of southern Colorado.
Founded in 1975, the Spanish Peaks Arts Council (SPACe) is a non-profit community-based organization dedicated to the support and enrichment of the arts and art education in the Spanish Peaks region of southern Colorado. The SPACe galleries display the works of regional artists in a variety of changing exhibits throughout the year, while the SPACe gift shop provides artist members a year-round outlet for their arts and crafts. Many of the 150 members who support SPACe are not artists and many are part-time residents, all of whom appreciate and support the arts in our rural community. Hard-working community volunteers are the core of the organization.
