Existence of program heightens chance of EDA approval

DENVER – Rural Colorado communities that were previously ineligible can now align their economic development projects with an approved Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) equivalent plan when submitting grant applications to the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA).

DENVER – The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced today that six businesses have been selected for the second round of assistance with opportunity zone businesses investment through the Opportunity Zone Capital Accelerator Program. 

OEDIT economic incentives spur hundreds of new Pueblo jobs

Denver, CO (August 13, 2020) – The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) has received notification that a half billion dollar manufacturing project has received corporate approval to proceed. The August 6th EVRAZ Board of Directors vote affirmed their intent to proceed with the planned Pueblo Plant Project expansion. The manufacturing expansion will be accompanied by a $250 million 240-megawatt solar facility developed in partnership with Xcel Energy and Lightsource BP.

Colorado company awarded state incentives for hundreds of new in-state jobs   

DENVER ­ — The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT)  announced today that INFOCU5 (pronounced “in focus”) will relocate its Pasadena, California-based operations to Grand Junction. This move, combined with its expansion plan, will add 403 net new jobs to the state, 171 of which will be location-neutral and available throughout rural Colorado. 

Located within the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade, the Business Development & Rural Prosperity division supports the economic development needs of rural communities and small business throughout Colorado. 

Companies looking to move or expand to Colorado can now take advantage of a new cash incentive offered by the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT). 

The Location Neutral Employment (LONE) incentive provides an incremental cash incentive of up to $6,500 per remote employee per year for up to five years to companies that hire new employees in designated rural areas of the state. 

One of the key objectives of the Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) is to expand the state’s economic prosperity that is broadly realized within the metro area to reach all of Colorado. To do this, OEDIT has targeted programs that support economic prosperity in rural communities, including the Rural Jump-Start Program. 

The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade today announced that Washington-based Canfield Bikes has selected Fruita, Colorado for its new headquarters.
