Denver office eyed to become company’s second largest location

Robinhood forecasts the creation of up to 791 new jobs in the Denver market over the next eight years across a range of roles that span from engineering to operations.

The Colorado Council for the Advancement of Blockchain Technology Use announced the publication of its final report to the community chronicling the analysis and findings of the appointed Council experts. The Council, which concluded its charge in June 2019, was created by former Governor John Hickenlooper and continued under Governor Jared Polis to assist the state in meeting the challenge and promise of blockchain use in government. ViewRay, a leading medical technology company, has chosen Colorado as the site for their expanded operations.

Following more than a year of work, the Colorado Council for the Advancement of Blockchain Technology Use will conclude its appointed charge on June 6, 2019. The work began by the council will transition to a consortium of state agencies who will contribute to the continued adoption and expansion of this disruptive technology in partnership with the State’s new Blockchain Solution Architect, Thaddeus Batt.

The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) works in many different facets of economic development, but a primary charge is supporting local entrepreneurs and businesses by providing them with the tools and investments needed to succeed.  GitPrime is one example of how early support can provide long-term dividends.

GitPrime announced this month they have been acquired for $170 million by the Utah-based company Pluralsight. GitPrime is a Durango software startup that helps engineering and computer programming teams improve their productivity.

Centennial-based Arrow Electronics Inc. on Tuesday said it acquired San Jose-based eInfochips for an undisclosed sum.

EInfochips, founded by former Intel Corp. chip designer Pratul Shroff in 1994, is a project engineering firm that offers high-tech design services like chip design. It employs 1,500 people with many workers at its dual headquarters in India. Arrow’s services link customers to its engineers online to offer virtual collaboration.

Last April, Steve Lucas walked into Marketo’s new temporary space in the Denver City Center and saw the head of human resources sitting at a desk next to the company’s only other Denver employee.

“They were at two desks and that was it, just staring at each other,” said Lucas, who became CEO of the San Mateo, Calif.-based marketing technology company in November 2016. “I just went ‘OK, … we can do this.’ We were hoping to get up to 150 employees by the end of the year.”
